You really think that the SWC was on the SEC's level???
The SEC did not play an entire conference schedule. Playing Mississipi State, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Florida, and Alabama was not that tough of a schedule back in the day. Mix that in with Tulane, Baylor, aTm, and it is pretty damn on par with what Arkansas played.

Win percentage does not a JCL make. It's about fan interest, tradition, memorable games accumulated over a long span of time. It's longevity. It's the difference between Jay Gatsby and the Buchanans.
LSU had great teams in the early 1900's, 1930's and won an AP National Title in 1958 and a Heisman Trophy in 1959.
I'm sorry, your argument conflicts with reality.

No, it actually doesnt. In the real world, we go by wins, top 10 finishes, 10 win seasons. Many of which LSU lacked for the better part of 50 years prior to Saban.

I'm not arguing your methodology, I'm arguing your conclusion.
You don't define a JCL program on winning percentages over a decade. Just because you notice a spike in winning percentage doesn't mean the program just started generating fan interest or relevancy.
JCL's are programs that had little fan interest, were rarely competitive, and were transformed under the tutelage of a particular coach. See Kan. State, U Miami, & U of Florida.
I dispute your claim that LSU has just now become a major program. It's been a major program since the 1930's and unquestionably since 1958. I guess you also think U of Texas is a JCL because it's been very successful the last decade.

Using your logic, you would include South Carolina, Mississippi State and others on that level as a power program. That cannot be farther from the truth.

When you factor in makor championships, bowls, bowl wins, major bowls and final rankings, LSU was a top 15 program every decade from the 30's through the end of the 80's. You convieniently left out the fact that a lot of those teams with more "wins" were from what we would now call "non BCS" conferences, and even though they may have won more games, they were not of the same caliber. When I get home I'll once and for all debunk this absurd thread derailment and go decade by decade and show you exactly how LSU was better than Arkansas from before the 60's, I will show how Arkansas and LSU were basically even from the 60's until Arkansas joined the SEC in 1992, and lastly how LSU has been better since expansion. Then hopefully this thread will die.

More faulty logic.
Just because a program is not a JCl, doesn't necessarily mean that it is a power program. The 2 are mutually exclusive.

Good luck. It is hard to argue the fact that LSU had 19 seasons of .500 or lower during that time frame, less top 10 finishes, less conference championships while not having to play everyone in the SEC, less total wins, and a lower win pct.
Spin it all you want hoss, facts do not lie.

Based on that site you linked, entering the year 2000.....
LSU - 618 wins 62.5%
Arky - 593 wins 59%
So I'm not sure what you are arguing.
I still don't understand your argument.

You're the only one spinning. We're going to take a long, comprehensive look at both programs

The end of WWII, which would have been about the last 50 or so years prior to 2000.
Although Draconian did not like those results, so he wants to use 1936 as his starting point.
I hate using anything during the WWII time. The entire landscape of college football changed after the war. The military acadamies were never the same, kids were gone during the war.

Your running back on that drive's career is probably over, so you won't have to worry about what Les is or isn't doing on the sideline anytime soon.

CBP will just plug another star in...Did we play LSWHO with Greg Childs? No CBP just plugged in Cobi Hamilton, ya know the WR that burnt your weak asses before halftime...
Deal with it! Getting owned by poor 'lil 'ole Arky..

Those are the facts based on your link.

Now, since we are talking about history before 2000, where according to you:
quote:
Congrats, you've been the better program since 2000
So, according to your link, we have been the better program forever based on the facts.

What is your argument?
