It was fun but I wonder what Coach Croom thought of those NCAA sanctions he inherited from Jackie.
There was not one player on MSU's 1998 SEC West Champion (or MSU's 10-2 1999) team that was involved in that probation. A probation, by the way, that involved a TOTAL infraction dollar amount of less than $1,500. $1,500!
Compare that to Ole Miss' 2003 SEC West team that played Ronald "Goldie" McClendon for the first half of the season, then mysteriously didn't play him when it was publically disclosed that his SUV was registered to an OM booster. Just the rims on that SUV were worth more than State's entire probation.

Very true. A guy I know close to the situation said the players involved never played a down for us. They were prospective recruits that eventually played elsewhere. But, we did our time for the violations.

Yes. In response to his same post in another thread. He erroneously tried to associate our probation with our 1998 SEC West Champion team, so I refuted it. Both times.

Well, you did have a lot to do with our problems, but that's not what my post was about and is a whole other topic.
The thread is about going to the SECCG and the topic was a false association between MSUs probation and our SEC West Champ team. I was just wanting to let that poster know that our probation had nothing to do with our better teams in the '90's, so maybe he would quit saying it.
