Of course, and 30 years of mediocre football would follow.
The only 30 years I can think of when it comes to Bama is the 30 straight years of winning in Baton Rouge. Bama is the only SEC team to have won an SEC title every decade since the SEC was founded. We have never had a down streak anywhere close to that long

The first coach was Ray Perkins, NY giants HC and former Bama player under Bryant. Was know as Perk the Jerk. Then came Bill Curry.
All of which is true, but he said

the first coach hired after bear bryant wasn't AD was a guy with no ties.
Which is also completely true.
Ray Perkins was announced as head coach on 12-15-1982, the same day Bryant announced his retirement as head football coach but he did not step down from the AD.
Bryant died a month later and Perkins assumed the AD role - making Bill Curry the fist coach hired after Bryant wasn't athletic director.

Yes. We did well against inferior competition this past weekend, also.
But the fact is this man has been a destroyer of once-proud programs on both the college AND professional level.
You have reason to be at least somewhat suspicious of this move....
What was Cam Cameron's head coaching record?

Itd be a tough call. Id be ok with giving Kirby Smart a chance

Kirby smart is crazy. saban just signed a new contract. smart should get the hell out of there and not wait another 3-5 years for lil nicky to leave.

Saban didnt have any ties to Bama that I am aware of. I dont see why they would restrict a search to just former coaches or alumni. Certainly Perkins, Shula etc, didnt show any special value there.
Kirby could get the nod, but then I would also expect Bama to get some pressure to hire a black coach.

If Kiffin is still there, no doubt he'll be the next HC...

Crazy? Really?
Smart is making 1.4 million as DC at Alabama and he isn't the guy with all the pressure.
Crazy would be taking a head job somewhere else with a far less chance of success for half (or less) the money and triple the pressure.
