You guys have to spend way too much money to be competitive in recruiting.

It certainly hasn't paid off in almost 12 years.

They're right. UT needs to stay ahead in the facility game to compensate for talent base.

Its like this, A few years ago it was tennessee. A few years ago tennessee upgraded and moved to the front. Then a few schools upgraded and caught up or even moved ahead. Now tennessee is building a brand new facility and slamming the door until someone else decides to build from the ground up and beat it. And no arkansas, your new facility is not even close.

This is probably just me taking the bait to a flame attempt but ahhh what the hell.........I wouldn't call three sec east champions not paying off.

Sure I wish we had achieved more but I know about 5 other sec schools that would kill to be able to say that.

The plans for you new facility are no better than the plans for our new facility.

As others have said, it's a pissing match if you're talking about football facilities only.

But really Arkansas has the best facilities if you're talking about ALL sports.

I'm assuming the fact that you were replying to me was just out of convenience since I said absolutely nothing about facilities.

It wasn't really flaming. It was true and just an acknoledgement that you guys have to do more with facilities for recruiting. I flamed a tad in the other thread.

We're not even building an IPF. We don't need one and recruits don't seem to mind.

BTW, Arky has to do the same thing because, well, they are Arky and in Arkansas.

I dont know about yall but we are about to break ground on ours next month. No longer just plans it is going up. As far as our not being better, dont make me get a link and compare the 2. They are not comparable. And neither are any other current facilities in the SEC.

Well considering the fact that we finished only 1 spot behind florida in the recruiting rankings this year, and CUM did almost all of that while muschamp got his clock cleaned, Id say maybe you do?? Whatchya think?

I don't deny that we have underachieved for a while I just think it's ridiculous to say it hasnt done anything for us in 12 years. We have done some good things.

Also I'm pretty sure every program would be improved with new state of the art facilities. Do we need it more than others?? Probably so but if it works, it works we ll see

How long have you paid attention to recruiting?

The coaching change and the delays in hiring coordinators doomed our recruiting this year and we still had a good class (not great) and excellent average star rankings. The second year bounce is already starting. Muschamp's first job was to salvage as many of the committed guys and he did a great job at that. He added some more and didn't make any drastic plan B choices.

I'm pleased considering the circumstances. How did your second year bounce go?

No doubt the fancy facilities help. What would such an investment do for FL? I kind of like the fact that we don't have to get into the arms race as deep as some.

Congrats on the building. It does look nice except for the color.

Pretty darn good. Dooley got his guys. He doesnt bow to rivals. The problem with muschamp is that he lost basically every recruiting battle. At least Dooley won a few last year.

You aren't following. Let's compare Boom's next class with the class Dooley put together this year.

2nd year bounce to 2nd year bounce.

Boom's biggest victories were keeping the class together and getting CW to UF. Everything was gravy. We really just missed on DL and LB. The 2012 DL and LB class will be terrific because of the depth chart.

Tennessee is already near the top but this puts them far and away the best when it comes to facilities

Well ill say it, you seem to be very oblivious to actual events. I know we haven't achieved anywhere near the expectations that we have for our program but we did do some good things. Things about half the SEC schools would be very proud of. Hell, we were one Ainge interception away from winning an SEC championship in 07.

Do you really think Tenn is going to build facilities that are "far and away" better than Fl/Bama/LSU have?? Even if this facility was "far and away" better everyone knows those three schools would immediately start drawing up plans to catch up.
