When I was a student, I would get there about 45 min. early and I would be one section from the section on the fifty and sort of high up for the lower bowl.

I'll take the wacko chest painters over the Abercrombie wearing "Phi countus Maximus" d-bags that fill the west endzone.

I can't ever remember one single time I'd really call Sanford Stadium "rocking", and I've been to just about every home game since the early '90's.
Best atmosphere I've ever seen would've been against UT in 2000 or against Auburn in '07 for the black jersey game.
During undergrad - meh........never really a big home game during that span, maybe LSU in '04, but the fighting Sabans got woodshedded early and the crowd was ready to drink.
Georgia people are more social partiers.
Leave that hardcore football painting dumbassery to the LSU's of the world.

I wish is was this was today. Now you have to get to the stadium at least an hour and 45 minutes early to get a good seat. Grrr

I don't paint, I was just describing the section. I haven't missed a home game since Auburn '97, and I can recall plenty of good noise games. The 3 you mentioned instantly come to mind. Clemson 02, Auburn 05, etc. were all big. If you don't think the original blackout was "rocking" then I don't know what to tell ya. That was the best atmosphere I've ever been to in my life for a football game, and I've been to hundreds.

I've been wanting to put ours in the eastern uppers on the south side. IMO this would give them more room to get rowdy and they could get a better view of the band

bullshite. If the gates open 2 hours prior to kickoff (I'm assuming here), you're telling me that within FIFTEEN minutes that ALL the good seats are taken?

Clemson '02 was a fun game.
And thanks, BTW, I was going to try to make it thru a day without thinking about Auburn '05.

I figured this was the case now-a-days. Since I don't sit there anymore, that is a good thing. I went to school during the crooms era, so the students weren't quite as excited.

For Arkansas, lsu, and uga, the student section was full 2 hours prior to the game. For Clemson and USC it was about 45 min before game it was full. And smaller games, it usually doesn't fill up( la Monroe, ark st, la tech.)

I kidd you not. If you are not in the student section by at the latest an hour and 30 minutes you will not get a seat on the 50, 45, 40, or 30. I for one do not want to sit in the endzone or on the goal line.

I don't know man, for last year's Egg Bowl we got to the stadium 30 minutes before and sat at about the 30 yardline (5th row from the top or so, but still).

That's the egg bowl. Diffent situation because of the holidays. A lot of students stay home.
