I have never heard a Mizzou fan say it wont be a pretty big adjustment and that we are all mostly tempering our expectations and hoping for the best.

TCU will take a hit.
They could have battled with A&M for the top recruits if they were both in the big 12 still but now A&M can pitch SEC so they definitely have the edge. TCU will be middle teir and then have a good run of a senior led team every 4 year or so.
A&M already knows how the SEC kicks the big 12 in the nuts every year. A&M hasn't beaten Arky since they started playing again and A&M got spanked by LSU in the cotton last year.
Arkansas also handled the #2 team in the big 12 this year pretty easily as well.

People are arguing that fact that Ben thinks MWC to Big 12 is a lateral move or the Big Least is a lateral move to the Big 12.
That's a silly as saying Big 12 to the SEC is a lateral move for Mizzou and aTm.

Definitely not lateral. TCU isn't going to hurt as bad as if another MWC team joined the big 12 because TCU is still in Texas and we know what that means.

Yea I agree with you. I think long term WVU will suffer far more than TCU just becasue of the "Texas" factor.
WVU has got to sell Florida and east coast recruits on now playing in the Big 12.

Seriously guys....I definitely got carried away. Posted something...got a reaction...fired back...bigger reaction....slow day at work...kept it going....believed some of what I posted, posted other stuff for effect...had a lot of fun. Certainly not butthurt and honestly hope there's no hard feelings. Just silly shite that one can sometimes do behind the anonymity of an internet message board.
What I stand by is that the transition to the SEC is not an easy one, and no matter what you think it's going to be like, the first time you see it up close and personal in places like Gainesville, Tuscaloosa, Knoxville, Athens, Baton Rouge, etc., you are bound to be impressed. I believe your teams' records will reflect that for a time to come. I don't however think the Big East and the MWC are the Big 8+4-2-2+2's equal. That part got a huge reaction, and it's the part I kept playing up. Nothing more.
Take it for what it's worth. I have lots of friends who are Missouri fans - I live amongst yall. I gotta behave. And when yall come to Fayetteville for a game, we'll be hospitable, and i'll share my beer.

I'll accept the olive branch. I have family in Arkansas, and have always liked the Hogs. Some of your posters are challenging that sentiment. But I want to like you, so I'll take you at your word. Now, go forth and troll no more.
BTW - not a flame, but seriously - tough loss today. You'll be better next year. Not sure if CMA will get you back to the Final 4/NC level you're looking for, but he'll improve your program.

Rock on, Truman. The olive branch was sincere. The loss was tough but not unexpected. I think Coach A can win here, but he's got to get the talent. I'm skeptical of this next class. I'm hoping there are some hidden gems that I'm just not seeing. If he brings the talent up to where it was from 88-95, then the system will work. If we're playing a roster of 9 scholarship guys, with none over 6'9 every year, then we'll be in the market for another coach again in 3 years.
Y'all are having a great season - congrats. I'm seeing a lot of black and gold around town lately. Should be fun in the Power and Light district Saturday if yall and KU make the finals.
