Does Derrick Thomas count as a DE?

He is an all-time SEC great, but a LB I'm pretty sure (if memory serves).

He didn't say the NFL's greatest lineman... he said the SEC's.

He was well-known as a LB in the league, but I almost added him as a hybrid DE, I was really tempted, if I could have found a single reference to him playing DE somewhere online.

Some of the greatest players in sports history were dirty players. It doesn't change that they were great players and always deserve to be in discussions about great players

That's the difference I think, between old guys and young guys.

"great players" play the game with honor and integrity and sportsmanship. They don't take cheap shots. Mike Tyson ... great boxer, but a thug pos who bit off Evander Holyfield's ear. It's okay to include adjectives to describe the true character of the player.

There's really no place for some of the things Fairley did IMHO. He did it to everyone. I remember him tackling Lattimore and trying to roll his legs - it was blatant. Why try to end someone's career? It's a lack of respect for your opponent and it is a thug gansta mentality ... no respect for the rules, no respect for the law.

Art Still needs to be added to the DE.

I'm betting you're a BIG fan of DJ Swearinger.

(P.S. Fairley was never suspended for a cheap shot. Not. A. Single. Game.)

(P.S.S. Hypocrite.)
