Joe Namath never appeared on SI as Alabama QB, but he appeared on 9 SI covers as Jets QB, the first was in 1965.


Bart Star was the first QB from Alabama to appear on SI cover in 1961 as a Packers QB. He never appeared as an Alabama QB either.


Bart Star also appeared on SI as a Green Bay Packers Head Coach in 1975.
