quote:

Well I was thinking of it in a more simplistic terms rather than position by position.

Like Offense, Defense, Special Teams, Coaching, Schedule

ok, i understand

I see.

I know anyone can win any week. Last year I was worried about the Ole Miss game more than LSU and fellow Gators called me crazy. If Florida tripe up it's to Arky or Miss State. The state of Miss has jinxed us.

I think LSU can surprise people this season. It really depends on Jefferson which is asking alot from the kid.
Lee in all honesty was not as bad against Florida as people remember him. Florida was already up 17-0 when he threw his first INT. Florida then scored I believe on same series going 40+ yards to take a 24-0 lead.
That same QB (Lee) then led LSU back to within striking distance in the third quarter.
IF defense does not collapse, and Lee does not throw second INT LSU reasonably should have won the game.

LSU's offense was still very good last year even with the mistakes. Florida defense will not shut them down that is for sure. LSU defense just needs to make a few stops instead of letting Florida run wild.

Florida relaxed at the end of the 2nd and start of the 3rd. We didn't play one complete game in 08. Florida still would have won, but it would have more like 2006.

See you are starting to sound like LSU/Bama fans in making excuses for the team.

No! I am honest. We didn't have one complete game last year. I think with the leadership and the ough offseason conditioning will be different.

Yet you are not giving credit to the other teams. They apparently did not play well as Florida played poorly.

It is same logic LSU/Bama fans use to get over a L.

I see what you are saying and Lsu made a great effort, but you have to admit when LSU put the pressure on Florida turned it up another level.

Well they did, with 4 minutes left in 3rd Quarter Florida out scored LSU 31-7. That is letting horses out of gates, they physically wore down the defense during the game.
It helped their defense completely shut down LSU running game. LSU was forced into a lot of third and long's and eventually luck ran out.
Florida was the better team in that game and last season.

Yes, I agree.

I think jordan Jefferson will give you at least 2 more wins this season. I think Ole Miss wins the west this year, but LSU is right there. I think whoever wins that game wins the west. bama has too many question marks for me right now.

I doubt Jefferson himself is giving LSU 2 wins. LSU will probably lose at least one game on shotty field goal kicking.
Jefferson will have a blow up game, LSU does not know when this will happen. If defense has improved enough they can mask this. Much like Flynn in 07 throwing 3 INT, defense held strong we won and Flynn's mistakes are forgotten.

Bama has less question marks for me than LSU, I know we focus on McElroy and the offensive line. Yet LSU has a guy with only 2 starts under his belt, compared to a guy 4 years in the system. To me that honestly is a wash, LSU fans should know because of how well Russell/Flynn performed after sitting in system for years.
Offensive line will be an issue although not as much as people make it out to be. Bama was never a huge passing team, even last year 9 touchdowns and 7 INT.

Every team after 4 warm-up games, the flaws will be obvious and what we are discussing now as question marks will be answered.
Bama vs VT will be good early, although VT seems to be losing a lot of players here lately.

Very good points and true enough.

Florida's OL I think will be better even with losing 2 starters. Sam Robey was pushing Maurkice pouncey at C, but Patchen really has done well enough for Maurkice not to be moved. The question is at WR. I do have high hopes for Frankie Hammond Jr and Deonte thompson. With Riley Cooper and David Nelson we will be solid. Hopefully Debose will be Percy2.0, but he has a slight Hammy last week, but is practicing this week.

Florida has talent at WR, alot of it has not been proven which is similar to LSU besides LaFell.
If just 1 young guy steps up that is all they need. They do not need another Harvin and frankly there will never be another Harvin. He was a unique player with everything he could do on the field. Player made be used in a similar fashion but he may not produce like Harvin did.

Florida has the most talent in SEC and people can argue the best coach in the country. Any time you have that combination you can never count out what they can do together.

Very true. Brandon James is getting a lot of "percy" snaps at practice so far. I think our best option this year is Hernandez.

I think Florida is going to struggle a bit offensively. You can never under estimate bringing in a new coordinator no matter how much he says he will run a similar offense he won’t. There will probably be a bit of a drop off.

If it is true they are going to play Tebow like a true QB. Under center, 3/5 step drop and throw then it will take a bit to get use too in live game situations.

Florida could struggle scoring early and it may not have anything to do with who is playing wide receiver.

I think we struggle early, but each offensive coach calls plays at Florida. Mullen was just the oversaw with the final word from Meyer. I am not that concerned with it. We shall see though.

No doubt.

I think the Florida/tenn game will be closer than expected because of the early offensive struggles. I hope for a woodshed though.
