USC offense will be sick. This will be Garcia's 6th year as a starter, plus Lattimore and Jeffery. I'm glad Bama trades them for Vandy.

this is every fanbases thought process. You cant take one half of a game and try predict the rest of the year. One example is gilbert at texas (see national championship game). Another is florida fans were claiming this all last year with brantley

We've seen Wilson (and Mitchell) more than 1/2 of a game. He played the week after Auburn and we've seen him for a couple years in spring practice. . .

Arkansas fans I agree that your team will only get better, but next year is a tough road schedule isn't it? You come to T-town and to LSU.
As your D continues to get better you guys will be a force for awhile with Petrino there.

What factual evidence leads you to believe LSU will be better next year? QB play? Offense is stellar? Defense is stellar? Stops the run well? Stops the pass well? I'm scratching my head here.....

17 starters returning from a team that went 10 - 2 with both losses on the road. The schedule flips and we play everyone except Bama at home. Is that good enough for you? It's called an opinion. Take your gangster quarterback and go home.

At his one CB position, yes. But if there's a marginal decline at his spot while an improvement at the other CB spot, an improvement in the backups, and the safeties are better it shouldn't be a huge issue. Losing his return skills will probably hurt more.

Peterson's replacement will only result in a "marginal" difference at his spot??? Are you kidding? You can't claim Peterson is one of the best ever, yet then claim you won't miss him that much. He is an awesome corner and there will be no easy fix.

It seems like he has been playing forever, but he is a RS Junior.

Yes, tough schedule next year. At Bama and LSU.

Regardless of our schedule and our improvement, IMO the SEC West goes through Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge. Those are the 2 powers in the SEC West for the foreseeable future.

He is an amazing player, but coverage is coverage. His loss will mean more to the special teams than it does the defense.

Josh Jasper may actually be the most difficult player to replace.

No, not seriously. It was a joke (something said or done to provoke laughter).

I feel like LSU will be the team to beat in the west. USC should be the favorite in the east, with both GA and FLA being much improved.

It is a tough road schedule, and I think next year we will have a true test on the road at Bama and LSU (They'll want revenge). I just think that we will have all the pieces in place to make a good run for an SECCG. I actually think that the Bama game could F us up, it's a bitch to beat Bama at their place (without paying a player).

Marginal is a relative term. LSU has two really good, really young CBs who have seen a lot of time this season. Mathieu and Claiborne are going to be a great pair of starters next season. The safeties should be much better as well. Hatcher should return to his rightful place on the bench.

The biggest factor in games away from home next year is the fact we went 4-1 outside of Arkansas this year. 3 of those wins were over AP top 20 teams, the other was at UGA.

We still have Vandy on the schedule and drop UGA and pick up Tennessee. Who comes to the Hill.

Miss State comes to Little Rock, Auburn comes to the Hill. Bama & LSU are tough road tests for sure. I just believe our team has shown they can now win away from home and against good competition.

Texas A&M may be the kicker next year. Depending on if they keep it up.

Our defense should be damn strong, you are correct.

What if rumors of the lock out keep juniors in school?

I am not sure I want Mallett back to be honest. I feel like he limits our offense.

Maybe I am off base with that assumption?

You did that with a seasoned QB. I don't care how talented your next guy is, it won't be the same.

I don't even know that Mathieu will be a starter as a true corner. I think he continues in his current role and Simon takes over as the new starter at CB. Give that guy a year in the weight room and watch what he looks like next Fall.

Either way, we return a bunch of young, talented playmakers in the secondary. Hopefully Hatcher is moved to linebacker, but today he saw the last of his meaningful playing time at safety.

Other than the early road test at Tuscaloosa, the road schedule is very reasonable. To me, the make/break games for next year are going to be 3 home dates (Auburn, SC, and MSU); if we develop enough maturity and offensive continuity to hold serve at home, it's eminently reasonable to expect to have a good record for the season-ender in Baton Rouge.
