You are the only one talking about A&M as a military school on this thread and are just trying to divert from the fact you were called out as not having graduated from Texas. A&M has produced more military officers than any other school that isn't a military academy and the Corps of Cadets cranks out more officers annually than any other ROTC in the nation. It's also filled with a lot of folks that have served and come back to school.

Your service is admirable and I thank you for it. I just don't understand why you feel a need to berate A&M, we certainly have credibility as a school that supports the military in every way possible.

Endowment lists are important because LSU and the Mississippi schools occasionally need to be reminded that A&M can always just buy them and make them into annexes without breaking a sweat.

It's also not really objective to compare public to private endowments. Private schools don't get funding from the state annually like public schools do. It's just a completely different model. Amongst the Publics you have Texas WAY out front with A&M and Michigan basically tied for 2nd but A&M is growing a lot faster. The UC System is not far behind but it supports UC Berkeley, UCLA, and all the other AAU branches of the UC System.

He's lashing out because he got called out as a t-shirt sip...now a current student and responded in the only way that sips know how when they've lost an argument:

1. Make a Bonfire Joke

2. Say "we are the Joneses"

3. Bash the Corps of Cadets as "fake military".

4. When getting called out by a "dead zip" who is a commissioned officer, respond in one of two ways:

a. If an officer, pull rank if applicable.

b. If enlisted, make a disrespectful comment that would get him drawn and quartered by that officer's NCOs if he said it in person.

c. If neither, make a comment about "my tax dollars paying your salary".

Did I miss one? (my first attempt at an "aggressor" thesis post)

If that were to happen to me, I would be grateful that I was able to get out before my mind was ruined as well as my body.

Ever see a retired infantry LTC or COL who doesn't look at least 10 years older than he actually is?

It's not the physical toll that does that...it's the Atlas-like load of bullshite they have to bear from the moment they pin Major, notwithstanding the weight of any men they lost as a Captain or Lieutenant.

For the record, I did NOT notice those who disputed your accounting of what happened downrange. I assume that was deleted by the mods. I remember when one of my classmates survived OIF 1 with me in 4ID, only to die in a blackhawk crash in bad weather just outside of Fort Hood (2004). Then, some assclown on texags decided to use his name on his webside trying to politicize OIF deaths. I told him in no uncertain terms that if he didn't cease and desist that I would notify my classmate's widow and basically bankrupt his sorry arse. He got the message.

Back when I was in school I saw how the Texas ROTC students were treated by their classmates. They were treated far worse than any A&M cadet was.

For the mods, I think it's about time we anchor this one as the point of the OP has been made and the conversation has drifted where it really doesn't need to go.

Until you make E8, W3, or O4, you don't really see a lot of the digusting bureacratic sludge that mucks up our operations at all levels. Then, at the O5 level, you get to see people who are junior to you and are inferior (and in many cases TOXIC) leaders get promoted and CSL selected ahead of you because they either know the right people or are protected by the right people.

I'm not eligible for CSL consideration for at least another 3-4 years, so I'm getting my hot sauce ready to scarf down that turd as well.

That's what I mean by "mind ruined".

This is incredibly asinine. You're better than that.
