Biggest hurdle with Freeze going to Auburn is NOT Gus’s buyout, it’s Greg Sankey. The arrogance Hugh and Co displayed during ACTGate involving Wayne County and the Lack of respect shown publicly still gives Sankey nightmares. Jimmy Rane is ready to cut Gus a check to disappear. In fact, there were discussions earlier in the year centered around the LSU outcome.
In Short, the buyout money is already there - Gus’s replacement will have to be all but locked up before trigger is pulled.
