That's why they get the edge over bama.
If lee goes down, Lsu shouldn't miss too much of a beat with JJ.
The same can't be said about Bama.
I do, however, like Bama chances as long as AJ is upright. Sims has talent but he aint ready for this.

I predict a sack and forced fumble Saturday by LSU's defense that leads to a TD. We may not get many chances for an INT because of the safe passes we will see.

McCarron's bane will not be Mathieu on Sat. It will be Claiborne. Outside of a few NFL guys and opposing coaches, not many other than the LSU fanbase really know how good this dude is.

I think Chavis with a well rested defense is going to bring the heat and make the sophomore beat LSU with precision passes.
Oh, and that dump off pass will get taken away one way or another.

Only thing is, if McCarron goes down, what will bama do?
Pull the shirt off Ely and put him at TE. Have P Sims run the bone with Fowler, Lacy and TR
Ely at TE will be the big threat to take a jet sweep option and throw to Morgan Ogilvie who will be playing TE on the other side.

That is pretty dumb. Who is the second string qb?

Sims is 2nd string. If AJ goes down, Bama is absolutely fricked.

So they'd rather go wildcat than plug in their 2nd string qb?

It wasn't just dumb
It was stupid but it was better than just saying
"Bama is fricked if AJ goes down"
I think P Sims has the potential to be a great QB but in no way do I think he is ready to be thrown into the biggest game so far this year and told "go win it"

Mathieu is the most overrated player in college football. well...2nd to andrew luck. It's easy to toss passes left and right against a no-defense league.

Trex never claimed to be anything. It's everyone else who says he is good. So how can one be overrated then?

PASS: McCarron 134-200, 1664 yds, 10 tds
the difference in yards is dump off passes and screens to the running backs.. which clearly prove he's a great QB right?
Also I like how you conveniently left off turnovers.
Sorry, but LSU plain and simple has an edge at QB.

So all of J Lee's passes have been downfield?
So passes to second or third options represent a lesser QB and don't represent a QB taking what the defense is giving?
I suppose AJ should stop throwing the ball to TR on those little dump offs and screens since it shows a lack of quality QB skills.

Personally, I like Lee's/JJ's experience and Lee is certainly more dangerous on a deep throw than McCarron. But, having to respect TR equals that out a bit.

No argument there
The experience LSU has at QB definitely counts as a + for them and Lee has developed nice touch on the deep ball
