A buddy of mine just posted on Facebook that Pete is a better coach than Saban because he is winning at the next level. Do you buy that rationale?
I just found this thread.
I think it is meaningful that Carroll was able to do what Saban failed at.
I personally wouldn't have predicted it...but Saban wasn't able to get it done the NFL. Saban identified this quickly and left. It's the reason he won't be leaving for the NFL again, IMO.

I think it's meaningful that Saban has won 3 NC's and Carroll won one.
What Saban has done in college is light years ahead of what Carroll did in college.
Alot more difference in their college success than their NFL success, Carroll hasn't won anything in the NFL.
NFL coach Carroll > Saban barely
College coach Saban >>>>> Carrol
Therefore Saban >>>> Carroll

lets see.
Neither has a super bowl
One has 3 NC's, going for his 4th all won in the SEC
One has 1 NC in the pac 10
There's butthurt in this thread alright

Carroll didn't really prove he could win in college without cheating his arse off. I doubt Nick Saban will leave Alabama on probation when he leaves. Saban is twice the coach Pete Carroll is now or ever.

You Bama fans got trolled hard in this thread. Why in the hell would you spend anytime debating the question of the OP? I'm sensing low self esteem issues amongst many of you bammers.

I used to like to troll the SECR, but once your team gets this dominant it loses it's fun.
It's like giving a homeless guy a 100 dollar bill then pulling it away and laughing when he reaches for it.Sure it's funny but you feel like a dick afterwards.

1) Too many variables, and 2) Carroll hasn't won anything yet.
Compare the situation in Seattle versus the dumpster fire Saban inherited in Miami. NOBODY was going to win down there for a few years.
