It really depends on your personal preference. Arkansas and Louisiana are both full of stuff for the outdoorsman. Both states have some really pretty areas and both have some god-awful, third-world, backwood, nasty areas.

In Ark, you obviously have the beautiful Ozarks, Hot Springs, and other gorgeous areas of NWA. Great Flyfishing, camping, etc. But you also have areas in the SE portion of the state that are just plain gross. I've been to some bumfrick areas in my day, but Forrest City may take the cake.

In Louisiana, you have some of the best fishing there is down at the mouth of the MR. Been out of Venice, Leeville, and Grand Isle many times growing up. All really cool little fishing villages in the heart of cajun country. However, you have places like Bogalusa and Alexandria that literally make you feel as if you have traveled back in time.



But at the end of the day, Louisiana has New Orleans and much, much more culture all-around. Just my objective opinion.

I swear, I know the delta is bad but atleast it has culture and some life. To me the ugliest, most destitute part of the state is that stretch of 45 from West Point to Meridian. Just turrible. I get full body shivers just thinking of the word.....Shuqualak. Ugh.

Some good blues in west MS though.
