You already sound like Chi Psi material at ole miss.
All my buddies that went to ole miss did oen year in the greek scene and they got away from it after that. The best way to meet people is just get you a small job at a popular eatery and meet people there b/c:
1) They do drugs as much as the greeks.
2) they were at one time probably greek
3) cooler chicks
4) the chicks were probably greek at one time too.
this way you skip all the greek bullshite.

frick it, rush. It will allow you to get alcohol easily if you are in a frat. Sometimes frat brothers are bartenders as well, which could only benefit you moving forward. Chicks coming up to the house isn't a bad deal either.

I'd at least rush, it's a great time. Also I ended up living with frat bros for years after college while still in grad school, and it certainly doesn't hurt when trying to pull arse.
Farters gonna fart...

Is the social life dominated by greek life as much as people say?
Well, if there's any school that you could say this for it would definitely be Ole Miss. However, after your first couple of years no one gives a shite.
I would say definitely do it though, especially if you're coming from out of state so you can meet a lot of people easily. A lot of frat benefits have already been posted but I'll tell you one that hasn't been mentioned that is my favorite. You can go on road trips to other schools and if that school has a chapter of your fraternity they will let you party at their house and also crash there for the weekend, or crash at one of the brother's houses. If Ole Miss is playing at some other SEC school and you know they have a chapter of your fraternity you can literally make no prior plans for lodging or entertainment and just wing it and you'll have nothing to worry about. It's awesome.

When I lived the house I usually hated it when opposing fans did this, but that is probably due to the fact that we usually had just lost.

I did the whole frat experience while at Olemiss and I wouldn't trade it for a thing. I had a blast. After being out of school for a few years I have just as many friends that I still hang out with that weren' t in frats as I do that were in them. I would definitely recommend going through rush even if you decide not to pledge.
