looking at homes there and in Riverchase. I like both areas but Riverchase is probably were I will live considering the lower property taxes in Shelby County.

Where I come from, some saw the "Brookies" as stuck up snobs. But I like pretty much everyone I know from MB. After all, Homewood and MB aren't even that far apart.

Depending on where you work, Riverchase is a good place to live, and there are some great streets back in there. I grew up right near Mountain Brook Village, and so my tolerance for traffic is VERY low, and Riverchase seems far away. Homewood is good, but the property taxes are high... there are also some neat little places around Cahaba Heights that are still in unincorporated Jefferson County, but if you ever wanted to sell, you could have annexed into one of the good school systems and increase the value.

Most of the "brookies" are the people everyone in Mountain Brook hates too. I tried to talk like them when I was in the 7th grade and my mom told me to leave the house and come back in when I talked the way I was raised.

I was planning to go, until I found out there was going to be a Jersey Shore marathon on that night.

Is Vestavia Hills / Mountain Brook still a rivalry? I have some friends from Vestavia.

LOL. In all seriousness I probably won't be there. If that changes I'll let you know. I want to go really bad. It depends on how much money I make this week on haircuts.
