Coach Moser held a presser today, some highlights from a reporter:

Tom Green
@Tomas_Verde

Porter Moser is here for his post-season presser to discuss the last 48 hours and give context.

"This is me speaking from the heart about our guys, the devastation, the hurt they're going through."

Moser: "We recruited a group of young men that I would go to battle with every single time.... Every single day since Dec. 1, our young guys woke up -- right or wrong -- and looked at a bracket and saw Oklahoma."

Moser: "The first time since Dec. 1 that they looked up, that they were not included, was on the bracket reveal."

Says he's not here to discuss the teams that got in over Oklahoma, because he doesn't want to take the joy away from those teams/players.

Moser says he's "dumbfounded" that Oklahoma was not in the NCAA Tournament field, nor has he been given compelling reasons as to why. All the top bracketologists had Oklahoma in.

"I feel such hurt for the young guys that put so much into it that they don't have answers"

Porter Moser: "The system is flawed, because you hear different reasons for why a team got in.... Whatever it is, there's no consistency of why a team got in.... There's always a reason that's shown to fit an answer that they give you."

Moser: "We had to overcome the craziest Saturday that I can remember, of five bid stealers.... To sit there on the bracket show, when every indication was that we were in -- and then we're not. I'm proud of the year we went on."

Moser: "The raw emotion in that room (on Selection Sunday) was so real. These unbelievable young men, the tears, the hugging each other, the anger, the range of emotions was raw."

Moser says there never was a thought of the NIT being a possibility for Oklahoma this season. Sooners always thought they were an NCAA Tournament team. Adds it's nothing against the NIT, but the team made a decision together 15 minutes after "heartbreaking news" of no NCAA bid

Porter Moser is getting choked up now: "Where we're going with this -- I'm hurting for the players and their families more than any of us, the coaches... There's going to be no less acceleration on our efforts for Oklahoma basketball."

Moser: "We will have our joy. We will have our joy."

Porter Moser's message to his team Sunday: That he loved them, was proud of them and that "some things in life aren't fair." Says it's not the last time in their lives that something unfair will happen to them, but it's about how you handle it and respond.
