That they think they are relevant in any athletic endeavour, and that the occasional victory over us (looking at the long term) justifies their entire being.

I think their "Sidewalk alum" argument against Alabama is pretty funny. Both schools have had about the same number of students for quite some time - which means that both fan bases have about the same number of fans who are actually alum.

The difference is that Bama has the ability to attract fans who did not go to school there - whereas Auburn is only attractive to people who are associated with the University in some form or fashion. They pass this off as being "The Auburn family" - which is kinda true.

The only people who want to have anything to do with Auburn University are people who went to school there.

Not even close to being accurate, IMO. Oxford has a very, very nice campus.

No I can't - I just think it's funny that they try to use that as an insult, while proclaiming a moral victory because the only people that pull for Auburn are those that went to school there. .

I hate how Bammers call Auburn "Barners". Auburn hasnt had cows or a active Barn on campus in years.

What would you call this on the front page of the Auburn University Agriculture Dept website? It looks like a well kept barn to me..

I guess you have never heard of the Lambert Meat Lab at AU either. Its right across from the AU Bull Test Unit.

https://www.ag.auburn.edu/~kerthcr/map.pdf

Get your degree in meat science right here!

(In the interest of full disclosure, I was grew up raising Angus and Brahma cattle. There isn't a damn thing wrong with making your living as a farmer. Also, frick Auburn.)

Edit: The first link has a rotating set of pictures, so the red barn may not be the one that comes up for you. However, here's another picture of it https://www.ag.auburn.edu/adm/heritagepark/, so there won't be confusion.

You say this like you're proud of it.

For the most part when referring to sidewalk alum auburn fans are picking the rather uneducated older folks of the state

Where'd you get bragging from? Am I pleased that auburn doens't have and abundance (at least in most cities lee county being a huge exception) of fans that didn't attend the university that are representative of the fan base...of course I am.

I get bragging from all of the "Auburn family" and "Alabama sidewalk alum" talk. I'm glad you're proud that it takes a "special kind of person" to want to be a part of Auburn University.

You like the fact that your university is undesirable to those that didn't have the opportunity to purse higher education? Wow, talk about pretentious.

I don't know why you and your fellow bama fans are trying to turn this into a which is better...you think that saying auburn family is a bad thing, i think having people associating themselves with the university who have no legitimate ties to it is a bad thing. differnt strokes bud, no need to get in a fuss over it.

Be proud of your "sidewalk alums" and i'll be proud of my "auburn family"

barners have a certain "look" that screams "I am a barner".
It is unmistakable....like you know when an individual suffers from "downs syndrom". It all about the look and the barners have that look that makes me want to

As a proud alumnus of the University of Alabama, I would like to kindly invite you to kiss the collective "Alabama Nations" arse. UA is the flagship university for the state of Alabama. The people of the state of Alabama and their tax dollars support the university. If Jimbo the mechanic wants to support the university through its football team, that's his prerogative. I genuinely cannot understand how a fan of a school that prides itself on being in touch with the land, can look with contempt upon those who work it and didn't have the chance to continue their education.
