We like to think of the SEC as a pretty tough conference..and we've won it 12 times. How does that stack up with the other teams in the conference?

UGA fans were warning us that the cops were gunning for us. They said their open container fines fund their department.

Don't seem to be bothered when "on campus", but there is a great deal of confusion as to what is "on campus". You can cross a street and be "off campus" and some bike cop who was waiting behind a dumpster (knowing someone would do this) comes flying up to smell your cup.

yep...or you can drink if you're under a store-front tarp. if you walk from under the tarp...boom...open container.

Lots of this came about in reaction to the "twilight criterium" and not home football games. Twilight is a bike race that takes place in the spring in Downtown Athens. It's combined with lots of concerts and is a huge festival drawing 10s of thousands to the downtown streets. They used to allow unfettered open container drinking during it and it really got out of hand. People falling in the way of the race and shite..causing pile ups. Folks getting hurt. But they have over-reacted to such things.

nothing is worse than ole miss campus security and oxford police over-reacting to that cop's death a couple of years back. they put a road block right in the fricking middle of the square. of course, they found a drunk driver. when the cop put his hand in the car to pull the keys out of the ignition; the driver drove off while the cop's hand got caught and drug him to death. Now that campus is on lock-down for gamedays. No unattended ice-chests, no cans, and don't get caught pouring drinks in cups. they have cops who work the gate to make sure no one drunk gets in the stadium. They're outta control.

before game: he just smiled and said, "sorry can't help you. best go back to baton rouge."
after game: i asked a bama girl and she said, "we don't help LSU fans" but i eventually talked her into giving me directions. she was just mad bama lost and was being a poor sport. it happens.
