Their defense was good enough to grab a BCS berth (unlike 10 other SEC teams).

LSU scored a mere 23, So. Carolina did worse with 20, Alabama racked up an amazing 24 points (but they won).

It's not like they are winning games 55-52 out there every week. They only allowed more than 24 points twice in 13 games this year . . but yeah, their defense sucks.

You must have been around for the original SEC in 1932 to have gotten the memo that defense is what we are known for, these 1991 members definitely have missed out on that

Yeah but allowing 65 to auburn and 31 to a supposedly worse state team is not good by any means

2007 LSU let up 43 to Kentucky and and 50 to Arkansas, but their defense was amazing, remember?

Sometimes the game plays out in a strange way and turns into a shootout.

Very good point, but this is no 07' LSU defense by any means, they really do need to get a foundation on defense and grow from there to be a really completive team, they have the offense and this year could be that building block for defense

Agree this Pig D isn't in the same ballpark as '07 LSU's defense. That being said, I think it's disingenuous to say Arkansas sucks at defense when the results clearly show otherwise. Let's face it, a damn good SEC team is getting smoked by Ohio State. "SEC! SEC! SEC!," I know . . . but any given Tuesday.

For the record, 21 points is a lot points in the SEC.

Alabama, LSU, and Arky lost 3 games in which they didn't score 22 or more points and two of those were to Auburn.

In 2009 it was 4, five if you count one of Arky's losses in OT.

Basically, if you get to 21 points you should win the game.

Starting at the 25 isn't.

In 2003, Bama lost to UT 50-49 in 5 OTs. The score at halftime was 7-3 and I promise you we weren't that explosive.

In Arkansas' almost 20 years in the SEC they have proven to be weak year in and year out on defense. The only school I would call softer in the West would be Ole Miss.
