MacDonald is really unique. Mark Richt gave him his chance to work at big time football...

Never played pro or college football.

Couldn't play his senior year of high school because he tore his ACL in practice.

Graduated summa cum laude from UGA's prestigious Terry College of Business.

Coached high school football for two years in the Athens area and then worked for a year as a grad assistant at Georgia. Then was promoted to defensive quality control assistant. Was under MR from 2010-2013. Then moved on to the Baltimore Ravens as an intern and eventually became a linebacker coach for Harbaugh.

Not the normal route.
