LSU listed as a 16.5 point favorite which is ridiculous, but I think we win comfortably by the 4th quarter.

Rival
Only Ole Miss fans believe this is still a rivalry (re: the Jxn douche above). They are not unlike southerners who still pine for a another try at a civil war.

Ironic, seeing as how we've won the last two.

Then you don't pay attention to half of your fan base.

Serious how many teams has LSU beaten by 16 points? ULM, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State and the Vanderbilt game was close late, State was close for like 6 minutes of third quarter before LSU pulled away.

I don't know a single LSU fan under 50 who considers Ole Miss to be our rival.

I know more than a few.

And are you not considering LSU fans over 50 to be fans anymore?

If Ole Miss comes to play, this will be a good game. If the team that played tennessee shows up, it will be about the same score.

Sure I just don't know that many and they are considered to be the "old guard"

There is a major generational split in our fan base FWIW.

Knowing 50 times more LSU fans that consider Ole Miss a rival than I do is a pretty big number....

Masoli may be something of a problem but I just can't see it being that close. Our offense is not good but Ole Miss is pretty damn terrible this year and I think it is time we just say that this LSU team is both good and pretty damn confident.

I agree.....but it won't be as bad as the TN game though. They not only had us playing our worst game of the year but caught a ridiculous amount of breaks that no single team should catch in a single game.

I wouldn't say that most LSU fans don't consider Ole Miss to be A rival. We consider every other SEC West school to be a rival at some level.

But how many LSU fans consider Ole Miss to be our #1 rival? I would say 5%

If we are not your rival and you don't hate us, then why are there 5+ threads per day flaming ole miss started by your fanbase. A good example if one on the first page "list of historical events that have happened since ole miss won the sec"

We may not be your biggest rival, but it goes the same way for yall. Let's look at the schools that you might say are your biggest rivals: Alabama, their biggest rival is not lsu. Florida? LSU is def not their biggest rival. Auburn? Nope. Arkansas, maybe, honestly not sure though. So the bottom line is that you make fun of us because you say we think of you as possibly our biggest rival and you don't, but you are in the same boat as us regarding those other schools feeling the same way. I know a lot of LSU fans that would say Ole Miss is the team that they would least like to lose to, that is a good way to think about it

There's a poll of this somewhere. They did it for every SEC team.

Ole Miss was second behind Bama.

Who is not your rival.

I didn't say otherwise.

However, LSU, like all of those places, are also major SEC football programs. Ole Miss is not on that level. It's still an "event" when we play any of those schools on the road. Their fans, while they may not consider us their #1 rivals, still circle that game as a big one. I assure you very few if any in BR circle Ole Miss on the schedule.
