I remember someone mentioning when this all came out before was that even if his probation wasn't revoked, there was still the matter of his curfew and whether or not a judge would be willing to give him special allowances to play and practice.
I don't know if that's even a concern anymore, or if they've worked it out with a chaperone, but it was definitely something that was mentioned by the press as a possible wrinkle.

Depending upon the outcome of the actual legal shite, his hands may be tied by the school. I don't slobber over Saban for kicking off the retards from earlier this year...he had no fricking choice. The school said "bye bye" to them.
Yep, my point is that today was a major turning point for what Alleva, and in turn Miles, may be forced to do from a university policy standpoint. If he doesn't face jail time, he'll play, and it looks like jail time is off the table.

Also, Les did bend over backward for TM7...and it flamed out in a spectacular fashion.
He still would be if TM7 hadn't tied his hands. You and I both know there's no room for saints in this business.

Whatever. It was a bar fight. We've all done it.
I don't give a shite.
eta: It's not like I want him to get off for, say, armed robbery or something.

This sane judge already put new stipulations on his probation when this all happened in April.
For Hill's sake, I'm glad they didn't go with the crazy one.
In all seriousness though, do you not see that there was a review based on a new arrest...and now there will be a revocation hearing based on a new charge?

Forgetting the probation stuff, what's the penalty for the crime he committed?

Typically you get thrown out of the bar and take a cab home.

That will be interesting to see. I guess we will see a bunch of Tigah fans change their postition on night games in DV.

I've heard it likened to a speeding ticket, the probation is the only issue here.

Most people who enjoyed college have been in some sort of altercation.
It's part of becoming a man. Then you grow out of it.
Sorry for partying?
eta: now that I think about it, I got in a fight at a bar my junior year while on probation for drunk in public..thank God I wasn't an athlete at the time.

I knew a few kids who got in bar fights. I thought they were clowns. As did the vast majority of people I knew who had also never been in a bar fight.

Simple battery is like a speeding ticket in La.

Meh. Some guy attempted to bust a beer bottle over a friends head for dancing with his ex.
Congrats on being so high and mighty.
I'd prefer take up for my friend than sit back and watch them get put in the hospital.

eta hopefully it is treated like a speeding ticket. I'd love to see him put up 200 yards on the Horned Frogs

You'd think the Fulmer/Meyer Cup standings leader wouldn't be throwing stones right now.

Here is the article I read...
I don't know if this person is a hack or if his points are legitimate, but it makes for interesting conversations.

I'm on the record as someone who acknowledges that we all have players who count to potato.
