Mike Wallace was a wide receiver from New Orleans. Not his position group. No indication he was involved in his recruitment. However, times have changed. I have no doubt he is motivated to recruit there for Ole Miss. He is a loss for LSU. No doubt. Wish we could have found a way to keep him.

That’s the thing. When you crunch the numbers for LSU’s overall recruiting class rankings and the number of top 10 Louisiana recruits LSU signs both with and without Wilson:
Without Wilson LSU has overall better ranked recruiting classes, but 1-2 less top 10 Louisiana recruits.
So digging into the numbers, it’s mixed results on Wilson’s recruiting. Whatever advantage he may have had recruiting Louisiana players to LSU will evaporate at OM immediately.

It’s not like LSU wasn’t getting New Orleans kids before FW and they will still be getting them after FW.

Yeah, I'm not sure. I was fairly young during that timeframe so didn't keep up with it much. I don't recall anyone from that timeframe outside of Wallace and Kentrell Lockett. I know we thought we had Joe McKnight and signed his friend.

Dude, it does not matter what he did in 2005-2007. Frank is a recruiting machine. No matter what people are saying him leaving is a huge hit.

I have taught public school in New Orleans. I can guarantee you not a single one of my students would enjoy attending Ole Miss. Now maybe Frank will help y’all drop some huge $ for NOLA recruits but you still will not out recruit LSU in NOLA ever.
