Mike Leach was stiffed on his Texas Tech buyout and retention bonus because of sovereign immunity. Sovereign Immunity defense upheld by the Texas Supreme Court.

I agree, when have you ever in your life heard of a governor firing the AD or having a say in the head coach of a school.. As the governor you have a lot more to worry about than who is the football coach of the state school.. Just goes to show what really matters in Louisiana.. Brian Kelly had a buyout you chose to fire him and you should pay every penny of it bc it was the agreed upon amount.. Every coach who is a finalist for this job is watching the disaster that is LSU right now and I love every second of it!!
