what's the status?

Hate that he was injured but his arse was getting pounded. The ankle injury didn't look to severe during the replay.

From everything I've read he should be ok. Some have said he wanted to go back out there but the trainers told him no. I wouldn't be mad if we sit him against tech so he's at full strength against ole miss.

i think he seemed to be affected more by the head leading sack than anything.

should have been a personal foul called on that hit.
I do agree that it did affect him more than anything. He seemed to have played less aggressive after the hit...and who would blame him?

I think he'll be fine with a few days.. just one of those things with football. It would have probably effected his throwing mechanics and hampered him for the rest of the season had he played.. although I wanted him back in so bad :(

I'm interested to hear more about this, officially. Because, during the game I could have sworn I heard CBS' Tracy Wolfson confirm that the training staff had wrapped the ankle for extra support and that he was cleared to play.

It's nothing official I heard. I heard it on the post game show. They said the training staff makes the decision regarding whether or not an injured player can go back in. You could tell jj wanted to play. I saw on CBS where they said he was all taped up and thought he would go back in too. I don't think Les held him out either bc he wasted a timeout both times jj went down to get him back out there.
