It's both, but it really started with the transfer portal.

Not good enough to be the starter? Don't stay and earn it — immediately leave and go somewhere else.

Causing locker room chaos and dissension amongst the team? Don't humble yourself, accept coaching, and learn how to be a man — leave and go somewhere else.

Across the board players aren't staying in one place long enough to be developed in fundamentals (physically), or the intangible teamwork aspects of sports (maturing mentally).

Thus, IMO the parity we're seeing is because of both dispersed overall talent AND a similar lack of discipline. Which results in a poor, inconsistent product. Add tons of money as an additional incentive on top of this, and it's a recipe for future disaster.

Just my two cents.
