He does look like an insufferable count. He did use the word "trogolodyte" I think Zeke might have outed himself.

If it ain't broke don't fix it?
Making more money works, and the playoff males more money.
I'm off the Mizzou bandwagon after this arse clown.

Playoffs - probably for the best
However, just going to throw in here that a selection committee is probably the worst possible way to construct a playoff, seeing how we all wanted a playoff as fans to remove a degree of controversy, and all a selection committee will do is spur controversy.

I agree, not to mention some psychotic fan would probably murder the entire committee if their team got snubbed

I like the way we used to do it in the olden days. When people argue because they realize that appeal to nostalgia only works if you are a million years old, I try to distract them. One trick is to tell stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt. Which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. Gimme five bees for a quarter, you'd say. Now where was I... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Dude is a retired Marine Colonel so I reckon he's entitled to his opinion even if its wrong. FWIW it is not the prevailing opinion up here. We are down with the playoff - long overdue

Finally, a quiz: Who are the two Division 1 NCAA football teams with the most consensus national titles? No, it is not Notre Dame, nor Alabama nor Ohio State. Instead, it is Princeton with 28 and Yale with 27.
Best part of that golden article. I loved it.

First, consider the source. The Missourian is the Journalism School newspaper, run by students. It's going to have an academic slant.
Second, this one one guy, who probably isn't even a fan of football as much as he is a fan of history.
The "99%" of us don't feel that way. Playoff needed to happen. They'll continue to make it better.
ETA: If you're looking for decent local sports stuff, check out the Columbia Tribune and read anything by Dave Matter.
