I’m glad you mentioned Mobile. I’m a direct descendant of Jean Baptiste deCourtel Marchand, the Captain of Fort Conde in the 1720’s. Most people that live in Mobile came during WW2 and the population went from 60k to 180k in ust a few years. They brought their dreadful Appalachian accents with them. Eight mile and Wilmer including much of the city and Baldwin county are filled with such undesirables.
