Bama could have hung with any of the teams in the playoffs this year

But they lost to two non-playoff teams… One of those teams having 4 losses

Umm…they lost to another playoff caliber team on the road that could’ve/should’ve gone their way in playing UT and they lost to the SEC West rep team in OT on the road on a 2pt conversion Alabama couldn’t even attempt to match at the point it happened. Or in other posters’ take the 2nd and 3rd best SEC teams(not my opinion of course).

I mean really the whole CFB scene had a down year this year and I’m not saying Alabama had a world beater team, but they easily have the horses to compete with any other team this year. Nobody was going to soundly beat them this year…not UGA, not any Big10 team, etc. They might lose a close game and they did…sure, but the only reason you might think otherwise is if you’re being very biased. If you’re speaking objectively as I am doing in these posts and not as a Bama homer so to say then you know better.

Problem with your logic. They have already demonstrated that with an expanded playoff they would want to put the P5 champions and 1 G5 team, so Alabama and Tennessee would still not make a 6 team playoff.

Not always…I said there was an improved opportunity to have more conferences represented BUT if the goal remains the same, to get the 6 best teams in, then a shitty conference “champ” would still be s.o.l.

How many it takes to get Bama in should be the number. They should use a sliding scale depending on the outcome of each Bama season.

Lol! Yeah that’s great and all of it had anything to do with what I said…but it doesn’t. This year it would’ve gotten Alabama and Tennessee both in, sure. Alabama would’ve benefitted this year, sure. However from what we have seen thus far, they both seem to have deserved the nod. UT and Bama both solidly won against two Conference Champs. Furthermore this goes to show that “Conference Champs” doesn’t really mean too much either in who should get in as well.

I was against it at first also. Now thinking it might be good. I suspect top 4 will have byes the first round...so it adds two extra rounds to the play offs.
