quote:...and yet all the writers and coaches and computers still put them in there year in and year out. Why would they do that?
then it isn't our jobs to think they deserve to be a top 10 team as a result.
quote:BSU has never qualified for the BCSCG. They have never been given anything they didn't deserve, nor have they ever been gypped.
Sportswriters have been sucking off Boise forever.
quote:There is nothing to dodge. It's irrelevant. No matter how many good teams they play, they still beat the good teams they play because they're better than the good teams they play and beat.
you keep dodging the fact that Boise only play 1 or 2 good teams a year.

quote:Yes. They also have to beat the shitty teams on their schedule, too.
You realize that by beating the only 2 or so good teams on the schedule does NOT make a team elite right?
quote:I'm only being fair.
That's middle of the pack dude. That's like crowing that somebody in the SEC beats mississippi state or something.
Boise State is an elite program.
Georgia is not.

quote:What you don't get is that that is false.
you don't get it. The reason they can win is because they don't play anyone on a consistent basis like the big boy schools.
They beat Oklahoma because they were better.
They beat Oregon State because they were better.
They beat Oregon because they were better.
They beat TCU because they were better.
And they're going to beat Georgia, not because of what happens to Georgia starting the next Saturday, but because they're better.
It's not hard. The scoreboard almost always tells you what you need to know.

quote:BSU fever started in September 2006 when they beat Oregon State by 28. I'm starting from then.
This is false, depending on your timeframe.
I know what happened in 2005. It was impressive.

easy schedule that is winnable.

UGA is one of the top coaching jobs in the country and is without question an elite program.

but they didn't beat all those teams in 1 year. They didn't even beat them in 2 years.

I refuse to even argue with you anymore if you can't see the absurdity in that logic. By your reasoning:
Team A can beat a top 10 team in week 1, then win the next 11 games against teams ranked 100 or worse, while
Team B can go 10-2 against a schedule consisting of all 12 teams ranked in the top 30,
yet Team A is still better IYO. That's completely fricking stupid. You fail to realize that Boise WOULDN'T be going 11-1 or 12-0 every year if they played an actual schedule. It is relevant, it does matter how many good teams they play. That's the whole fricking point.

how is it irrelevant? How is how many good teams teams play irrelevant?
They beat Oregon State by 28 in week 1. It had nothing to do with OSU's SOS.
They beat Oklahoma in the Fiesta bowl. It had nothing to do with OU's SOS.
They beat Oregon by 15. It had nothing to do with UO's SOS.
They beat Oregon by 11. It had nothing to do with UO's SOS.
They beat Oregon State by 13. It had nothing to do with OSU's SOS.
SOS isn't worth 11, 13, 15, and 28 points dude. You're insane if you think that.
When you win, it's probably because you're better. When you win 7/8 against the big boys, it's probably because you're better than the ones you played.
Oh, and
quote:...no. I haven't said anything of the sort.
Team A can beat a top 10 team in week 1, then win the next 11 games against teams ranked 100 or worse, while
Team B can go 10-2 against a schedule consisting of all 12 teams ranked in the top 30,
yet Team A is still better IYO.

Good God you're so simple minded.

Glad to know that Ole Miss was really better than florida in 2008.

You don't get it. They have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to prepare for those games, because they don't even have to worry about 98% of the teams on their schedule. Meanwhile, teams in the SEC, Big 10, Big 12, ACC and Pac 12 are playing good teams most weeks of the season.
