How many college coaches were busts in NFL.

Ever heard of Lou Holtz?

Look at Pete Carroll's record before he came to USC.

Then there is June Jones. Want me to keep going?

Straight up, he is the greatest college coach to ever walk the sidelines.

At both LSU and Bama, he walked in and identified almost immediately what needed to be done to turn the program around and did it fairly quickly. Does he benefit from being in the southeast where there is tons of talent? Sure, but the reality is he has been the top coach in CFB for over a decade and there is more parity and talent to go around than ever before.

If you want to say his NFL tenure was a failure, go for it. No one will argue. In the college game, he can force his team to follow his instruction, in the pros, the players pretty much do what they want and the coaches are the expendable ones.
