Let me help YOU out a bit. I was intentionally trying to be as objective as possible trying to give credit where credit was due to both parties for wins they have made and runs made.

But the TRUTH is only TWO things matters now. Recruiting and Player development.
Player development is about who hires the best staff and has the best facilities. Recruiting is about NIL money and whose winning NOW.

Nebraska has plenty of hardware from decades ago. How is it helping them today?
It’s not.

The overall record is something fans care about so they can be proud of their t shirt. It I have raised three college athletes myself and I can promise you at no point in the recruiting conversation does any parent discuss or ask questions about or even care what happened at the school any earlier than the tenure of the current coach.


Because you can go to a school whose team sucks that used to be great. It happens all the time and parents and recruits want no part of that.

The only people that care about history beyond the current coaches tenure are fans. That’s just the truth.

But the point of the post was from a fan perspective. And I was being extremely objective.

Anyone who says “Aggys going to be like they always were” first isn’t objective about what always means. And second isn’t being realistic about what A&M is now. They made a bad coaching hire with Jimbo but Elko has built a solid staff and they will be a tough opponent.


Elko still has to prove himself but I don’t think anyone would be shocked in the media if he does well.
