First, all 5 stars are not created equal. Just because you recruit a 5 star player doesn't necessarily mean they live up to their billing as has often been the case with our team.
2. We are still deficient in key positions. WR is a good example. 2 potentially outstanding Freshman WR's is not enough especially when consider devastating injuries.
3. All that matters is the team you field. We have along history of not being able to field our best players for a variety of reasons not the least of which has been injuries. Literally all of our outstanding RB's over the years have sustained major injuries: Marshal, Gurley, Chubb, Michele, Zeus, etc. And this year our already depleted receiving core was wiped out.
4. Lack of quality coaching has also been an issue with 12 years of Richt and now Kirby not developing a modern offense and letting a 5 star dual-threat QB get away from us in Justin Fields.
5. Bottom line: no matter how you spin the UGA underachieves meme, there are real specific reasons why we have not had a NC since 1980 and frankly I'm not confident that Kirby Smart is the man who can get us over the hump even with the elevated recruiting.

Adjusting to the spread is not always good. Georgia would be terrible with the spread offense being with that QB they have and the way they operate along with several other things.
