NORMAN, Okla. - It was exactly what was expected when the two teams sharing the 2014 NCAA Gymnastics title met for a dual meet. Record scores, record crowd.
Top-ranked Oklahoma used the nation's top total of 2015, 198.50, to take the win over No. 3 Florida. It was Sooner Senior Night and the crowd of 4,138 set the Lloyd Noble Center record for women's gymnastics.
Face it, LSU is now a gymnastic school.

Sail attempt noted. BTW, what is the attendance record for a gymnastic meet at UF?

It was because of the opponent.

I apologize to the UA and UGA fans. This is new to us. Still, it's our time now, and the excitement at LSU for gymnastics can't be denied!

You're making my point for me. When LSU beat Florida, they set a then-record crowd of 12,217. Oklahoma at home, same Florida team, could only manage 4,138. And that was a record crowd for them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's more than Coleman now holds for a gymnastic meet in it's current configuration, no?

Coleman can seat 15,075 for gymnastics meets.

I wonder if that will be possible after the renovations. I read that the O'Dome will shrink in capacity post renovations.

It seems LSU gymnastics has finally turned that corner and created huge excitement with the right crowd demographics.

Are you sure? You're biggest crowd this year was for the meet against Auburn... 13,028 fans.

Right now it holds a little under 12 for BB games formally. I know they want to add club seats and other fancy stuff that should bring it down. Last I heard, their about midway through the design and the project is on hold so I don't know if anyone knows what the final capacity will be.

Not unless something has changed in the last year that I'm not aware of.
We've sold out the Coliseum (15,075) 10 times since 2005. Our highest average attendance was 13,786 in 2010. Topped 13,000 again in 2013.
I'm impressed with LSU's new found love for gymnastics. It really is a pretty awesome event. We've been made fun of for years for following it. I'm glad some other teams in the SEC are getting on board.
