Does it? Not according to Wikipedia.

But maybe you know of a version that you'd like to share with the class.

Truthfully, I don't hold it against the Rebs charging the field. In the situation it was. It's fun giving them shite about it.
I just don't see how that's "giving shite" when I don't at all find it bothersome.
"hurr durr y'all stormed the field"
Yep, and I bet it was really fricking fun. Your point?

everything you say is fricking stupid.
Heavy hitting analysis you've got going on there.
Look bro, I invite you to wave the Confederate Flag at Auburn games, play Dixie, do all that shite. Have at it. It's not for us. Most of us don't want it or don't care about it any more, which is why it's really annoying to hear you - an Auburn fan - tell us what we should care about.

The song itself is not racist. However, it leads to racist comments and epithets from people such as events seen here. I hate that y'all did away with it because it's a great song when you don't tie racist remarks to it.

I may have been born in Alabama but my allegiance will always lie in Auburn. but both my parents went to Ole Miss. I remember vividly as a child going to Ole Miss football games singing Dixie and watching Colonel Reb. I live in Mississippi and I serve Mississippi in the National Guard. I think I can have a little bit of an opinion when it comes to Ole Miss

I agree. I miss it but I understand why it had to be gotten rid of.
Hopefully they can bring it back one day.

I'll preface this by saying that I do not like Ole Miss one bit.
However, I am from Mississippi. I understand what getting treated like redneck trash simply because of that is like. I get what being told you are damned to not even second best as result is like. And I can empathize with the frustration of having a football team that since 1890 and prior to this year had it's best years between the end of WWII and Civil Rights.
They beat #1 at home, a #1 that they had only beaten nine times since 1894 prior to that weekend. Yeah, I don't like the Rebels one bit, but I couldn't help but smile watching them rush the field. Even the sun shines on a dog's arse some days; it was fun to watch.

And I can think that opinion is shitty.
That's how a free society works.

exactly, a free society. A society that allows me as an Auburn fan to care about a mascot ole miss had.

It's a lot easier to point to other schools ( like LSU with Ole Lou) having used the "Ole" moniker in the pSt to explain it.
The flag, Dixie and the Col were a lot harder to explain away z

Ole Missus...

You're kidding, right? People have been trampled by fans running on the field. When Coach Saban was trying to get to Ole Miss's coach to shake his hand he was almost run over by a fan, but thankfully a state trooper took out the fan with a good stiff arm. It's a rule for a reason, or you wouldn't have received the heavy fine.

I still have hats and shirts and stuff with the Colonel. I think I'm with Wandering Reb in that I think using him as a primary symbol of the university isn't what we want as our image.
I'm with you on that. We don't need to use the symbol anymore.
That said, I'm not throwing my VVines Col polo away. I'm also not going to wear it to the grove, swayze, or the tool pool.

UNLV had a mascot identical to Colonel Reb. I think they are called the rebels too. nobody's beatin down their door wanting them to change that and I doubt they care

Damn shame too. With all those Las Vegas folks that died at Gettysburg.
