You make a decent point insomuch as some of the very highly ranked preseason programs may have been too heavily relying on the transfer portal to fill critical holes.

You could sign a future NFL loaded roster .... with no time to build comrade or chemisty, much less learn the playbooks. It may prove to be a bigger problem for the high paid blue chip rosters because of egos and entitlements. $10k a week can be a distraction for kids ..... and that's small potatoes compared to what some of the kids are pocketing.
