Well that was an easy win over a supposedly good team

It was just a fun game all around. The seniors all in all played really well. Gafford is just simply a badass. The bench guys played well. We’ve done that shite many times taking the lead then letting the other team back in but we never folded and never allowed Aub to take the lead, we answered every run of theirs. That’s so dang nice - especially this time of the season. Sure, it wasn’t perfect but I’d like that level of play (even with less accuracy in shooting- I’m not that greedy) every outing, please and thank you, good sir!

And I wasn’t playing game threading at the exact moment but that one pass behind the back in the fast break by Macon to Gafford was one of the prettiest plays I’ve seen.

I was pleasantly surprised we managed to fight and keep it in the single digits last night. This team plays with a ton of heart. They were dealt two critical blows that really cost us something special, but a win against USCe on Saturday and they will still celebrate something Auburn will be proud of for years to come...they truly deserve it.

As an Auburn fan the last 2 weeks have been tough. The team we are watching isn't as dynamic or explosive since the loss of McElmore. Bruce's strategy is clearly to keep the game close and hope we get hot shooting late. It is a strategy that is now 1-3.

arkie, I can understand why there is frustration in this season and that team. 7 seniors, 6 who somewhat contribute...with an NBA talent true freshman. It should have been a banner hanging year. Maybe they'll stay on a roll and win the SECT.

Congrats on the win.

Not going to lie, I'm still a little moist from the way we played last night.

All 3 of those losses are on the road. We are fine. We blast anyone at home, and in the tourney with neutral or AU crowds we are going to blast a bunch more teams

that shite was dope, i'll give you that. Gafford is a freaking stud. I would have LOVED to seen him vs. Wiley. That would have been a crazy matchup of solid bigs. Not enough TRUE bigs anymore these days IMO

I appreciate your optimism. My post history would define me as a Posi-barner, but I don't see this team doing much without Anfernee. I was there when he went down and saw his teammates faces. I believe they understood what he meant to them and how they were playing prior to his injury. We beat bama at home and did so because we shot the ball really well. The loses showed the fight of this team, but we don't score in bunches like we did before his injury, we don't defend like we did before his injury and we are not the same team. We may be good enough to win Saturday without him and get out of the 1st weekend of the tournament, but I believed we were shaping into a match up nightmare for most teams and had a great shot at the elite 8 and a decent shot to make the final four if we caught a good bracket.

If you look at our scoring and D in our wins and even in our loses my thoughts weren't fanatical. They were supported by data. In the 4 games since we haven't been the same team.

It's not a perfect comparison. But years ago when UofL had Pervis Ellison and he got hurt they went from one of 2 best teams in the country to struggling to play as a top 20 team. His lose on the court affected the entire team.

This was always going to be our hardest stretch of the season. Going to UF and Arkansas scared me even when we were at our peak. Not performing at our absolute best in two of the toughest road games of the year is not cause for alarm, nor does it mean we're not the same team without Anfernee. It means we played two good teams on the road and easily still could have won both games had our shots fallen. Those same shots always fall at home, and will fall much more frequently when we're not inside an opponents hornet's nest.

Perhaps it was because his ankle was turned all the way around. Yea, AM was a huge piece and we miss his interior presence and scoring big time. But to act like we have completely lost our way because of his loss is ridiculous. We were down like 30 points to USC WITH him, need I remind you, and came all the way back without him.

This team is still controlled by our 3-head monster at the guard spots. Bryce Brown will find his shot again, and Heron has started coming on. I promise you nobody wants to play this team on a neutral floor

That was a pretty play. Tough loss for Auburn but they hung tough against a Razorback team that brought their A game.

I love Auburn. But we don't scare anyone. Not sure we did prior to losing Anfernee.
