Add Mizzou and it would be 4 tigers and we could have a yearly baseball/softball invitational with Mizzou LSU Auburn and Clemson. And the winner gets a trophy with the name Tigers in it.

Heck, just go after Memphis, too. They'd be in the middle and also the Tigers.

I'd like to go by history... During the Civil War, the troops from Louisiana were called the Bayou Bengals, and also at the time LSU was a Military College. Ever since then the nickname has stuck

I'm surprised the Big 12 hasn't gone after two more Texas teams, but they lost two Northern division teams. They could invite any two of Tulsa, Air Force or Wyoming. They could also look into Louisiana Tech and move Texas Tech to the North with an addition 1 of the schools I mentioned earlier.

Other than that, I like GLG's expanded SEC because it would make a lot of sense. Like a few have mentioned, Louisville would be another good school to throw into the mix. It's a good private school with a strong basketball program. I think their football program will be revamped before too much longer. Who wouldn't want to play for Charlie Strong?

Back to the Big 12...

Air Force would be a good school to add for them in order to fill the void left by Colorado. It's a service academy with a lot of prestige. This addition would make a lot of sense.

Tulsa is a small, private school, but this addition would make sense in relation to the geography of the conference. Of course, they're small, but I figure they would jump at the chance to join the Big 12.

Wyoming plays a lot of Big 12 teams in their OOC schedule. From a geographical standpoint, this addition would make a lot of sense, but the market in Wyoming sucks because of the small population.

Louisiana Tech wouldn't be a bad addition to the Big 12. Sure, it's a smaller school, but they could vamp up their stadium. The women's basketball program used to be extremely strong. LaTech is a fairly decent school as well.

Houston wouldn't be a bad addition. It's a big school. The only problem would be the competition with A&M in the Houston market. Rice fits into UH's mold, but it's a smaller private school with a great baseball program.

I'm surprised the Big 12 didn't try to go after TCU. TCU copped out!

SMU is still on the table, but that program hasn't done anything since it received the death penalty back in the late 80's.

UTEP isn't too small, but there is no market out there.

Colorado State may be a decent candidate to fill in for Colorado. I know there is a natural rivalry between Colorado and Colorado State. I know they would jump at the chance to join the Big 12 because it would slap Colorado in the face.

After writing all of this, the two additions that make the most sense to me for the Big 12 are Air Force and Colorado State. These additions wouldn't hurt other schools in regard to recruiting, and the conference would regain the Colorado market.

Yeah the only negatives about Stanford and Iowa is travel for the schools. And if Texas thought they were to good academically for the SEC, you would think Stanford and Iowa would to. Same thing for Boston College.

This makes me laugh every time... They are afraid of loosing on regular basis is what it is.

If UT joined the SEC I'd be down with it. They can't be anymore arrogant that Bammers or guidos at UF... Also I'm from Dallas so I'm conditioned to their... Overthetopness shall we say.

Heard the end of their game on XM tonight. Iowa announcers in OT said, "do they have enough Ethanol left in the tank ?"
