Nobody bitched when Tennessee was beating Bama like 7-8 years in a row.
Roll Tide!
Third Saturday in October!
DWI!

Well, to be fair The Alabama - Georgia "rivalry" isn't much better. Kentucky and Vanderbilt are out of the question. Florida is reserved for SECCG. Missouri... well that hasn't gone any better than Tennessee. We're on the verge of 5 in a row with LSU. Arky
should be in the SunBelt. MSU and TAMU are soft games. Ole Miss ruined their rivalry application by rolling over and playing dead for Memphis. That leaves Tennessee and Auburn.
SoCar isn't worth mentioning - they belong in the ACC since Steve The Quitter left.

I have lived in Nashville since I was a child. My fiancé went to Bearden, in Knoxville. My soon to be in laws are all UT grads/fans. Im constantly surrounded by UT people. You don't hear talk about TSIO around thanksgiving dinner like you would with other rivalries.
Well, duhhhhh, of course not. The game would have been played a month ago. At Thanksgiving dinner, the Iron Bowl and other great rivalries are in a couple of days.
I'll see your fiancé and your inlaws and raise you the 1,500 Tennesseans I'm around every day at work, and can assure you that there is no other team on the planet that Tennessee fans would rather beat than Alabama.

UT and UF are in the same division. They are truly rivals in the sense that they are competing for the same prize, a division championship. That's not the case with Alabama and Tennessee anymore - and their rivalry has suffered since.
Your logic actually proves our point. The fact that the rivalry has endured over 30 years of not competing with each other for a division title is testimony to how deeply rooted it is.

I work in Tennessee as well, man. I can assure you I know just as many UT fans as you. I'm also a sidewalk LSU fan who went to a mid major college in TN. I know a shite ton of UT fans. No one cares about MTSU

Anyone who says it's not a real rivalry or whatever is either: A) an uneducated CFB fan that should stop pretending to be a real CFB fan. C) Not from a real SEC school (ie--SEC newbies).
The truth of the matter is that historically Bama and UT have been the best two teams in the SEC. And before anyone starts talking about that being half a century ago...remember that UT was a beast in the 90's an early part of this century. A decade of crappyness on their part does't erase almost a century of hate.
And if you don't think these two fanbases HATE each other, see my first point. There is probably more pure hatred in this rivalry than ANY other rivalry in the SEC.

If true,it's bc you lack success against them. But the fact is you are rivals when considering UT is mentioned in your fig song

You're just showing your ignorance, in spite of your protests. Who said anything about MTSU? Are you just trying to make us think you're clever because you happen to know that MTSU is in Murfreesboro?

You just prove the point I made earlier...we're trying to have an adult conversation with kids.

A lot of this. The rest of the conference suffers because of a BS rivalry that basically amounts to a bye week for Bama. It's ridiculous.

Almost 2 decades now. At what point do Bama fans realize that Tenn's downward trend is likely here to stay? They may be slightly above mediocre at best with a great coaching hire. You cannot have a great rivalry when one of the rivals is dog shite.

There's just no helping people who can't grasp that the problem is not playing nine games.

No, I was implying I went to MTSU, and there aren't a lot of MTSU fans at MTSU. But there are a lot of UT fans and former UT undergrads.

I get that you want to think only the "kids" don't realize this isn't a true rivalry. That's fine.
I do know a shite ton of UT fans. I'm not typing a work email here. Good on you for being so politically correct on a college football message board.
Typical Nashville transplant. I bet you're in IT or healthcare.
eta I just noticed you are actually in Murfreesboro. I bet you have a stellar job moving to a college town.

I know, the problem is teams go over ten years without playing conference opponents. That is absurd.

Maybe if your stupid coaches would have voted with Saban to have 9 SEC games, it wouldn't be an issue. Bama/UT and UGA/AU aren't going anywhere. A 9 game schedule solves both issues, but again, Saban was the only SEC coach with the stones to vote for 9 games...so blame your panzy coach for having small testicles.
