One interesting subplot is UF hired Pease who was the OC from Boise last year and A&M hired Yates who was the DB coach from Boise last year. Could go either way but that is probably advantage A&M as Yates knows the Boise offense very well but Snyder runs the A&M defensive strategy. We will see though.

You are obviously unfamiliar how spectacularly shitty A&M has been on defense, especially against the pass. If you have a QB that can hit the broad side of a barn you easily score at least 21, assuming you have a WR corps comprised of chimps.

I just can't see either team scoring more than 17. One defense is awesome, one offense is a huge question mark.

I'm ready to see how this one plays out, but I'm thinking A&M will fall short. Would have had A&M winning if they got a warm up game, but I think UF wins 17-14.

haha no way, we have a top 5 defense nationally (you think. Your D hasn't played a snap yet), and a well improved offense(who's your QB?), i don't care who wins the QB battle they will be much better than brantley (not really. It really can get worse. You NEED them to be better than Brantley), our running game will be fine with gilly and mack/jones, reed is a mismatch waiting to happen and I think Pease is going to create a lot of mismatches and misdirection, were gonna be able to move the ball this year just watch) everybody will definitely be watching

Of the 4 UF games I watched last year Rainey was the only real playmaker that impressed me. I also didn't think Brantley was that bad, he just didn't have much around him.

Is there a superstar playmaker in hiding for UF? Maybe, I just haven't heard about him.

The chart that was posted earlier showed LA Tech and UF scoring about the same amount and giving up about the same amount. That's not going to happen.

Do you know he completed a pass to himself? How is that possible you ask, well he was just that good

Well he started over the 2 guys you have competing right now and he completed 60% of his passes. That's not complete suckage. If you think his backups are a lot better though then fantastic.

Yeah and he was ahead of Cam Newton on the depth chart at one time too, do you really wanna go there?

He was as soft as charmin. He didn't have the guts. He started because he was UF's only QB with any experience. He was turrible for many reasons, imo most of them being mental. As for the game UF's D isn't made of scrubs like Arky or the Big12. Prepare thy Anus. As for the O anything is better than last year, terrible coaches, too complex a system, no leadership and some bad talent led to that mess. A true shitestain.

The "it has to be better because last year was horrible" logic on offense is a dangerous one. No one has explained to me where this massive new talent infusion has come from that will make it so much better. I don't buy the Boise OC is going to solve everything. The last few Boise OC's haven't done much once they left, the key to Boise's offense has always been Pedersen. Both of your QB's for this year got chances to take the job from Brantley and neither came close to doing so. Will they magically be better? Maybe, but assuming they will is certainly looking at the glass "half full". It doesn't help that your OL was mediocre last season.

The D looks good on paper but it looks more like potential than proven ability. Not a ton of depth either. Four and Five star recruits are great but are no guarantee of success. You lost your leading sack guy and the defense was good last year but it wasn't Top 10 or anything.

I think you guys have a solid team and certainly plenty of talent. There just hasn't been much to show that it is all going to come together. Despite what you may think A&M isn't just a wimpy team from a mediocre conference either. Think what you will though.

See, you started off not bad but then you fell apart.

UF was #9 in total defense last year.

We don't know about Pease. We don't know about Sumlin in the SEC. We don't know lots of stuff. You seem to know more than most. You smart I suppose.

Sorry I was looking at scoring defense for UF last year and not yardage. You guys didn't really play any high powered spread teams though last year did you? Not meant as a flame, it's just that when you have 2 high powered spread teams playing you can end up with 50% more total plays in a game and thus higher stats. A&M had that against OSU, OU, Baylor, and Tech and then it wasn't like Arkie was a slow paced team. Looking over UF's schedule I don't recognize any of those teams having that style of play. I do expect UF to be strong defensively without question, I just don't know if they will be suffocating.

I admit to bias on Pease just because Texas brought in Harsin last year as well as their savior and they were horrible offensively. Of course we hired Boise's DB coach so we will have to see how that works out for us as well.
