Daniels had less than 350 total yards in only two games: Grambling and Army. He did not play in the 2nd half of either.
How dominant is Daniels? His 412.2 yards of total offense per game is a higher average than 85 teams, and his 50 touchdowns accounted for are more than 83 teams scored all season.
All this against the #3 toughest schedule in the country: LINK
Team records shouldn't matter. The Heisman is an individual award given to the most outstanding player.
"Daniels tops the statistical charts across the country. From total yards and passing rating, to deep throws and explosive runs. Number for number, stat for stat. Daniels out performed and out produced every player in college football."
"But Daniels didn't just have the best season of any QB in 2023. HE'S ELITE AMONG THE HISTORY OF HEISMAN WINNERS, with higher passing efficiency and more total yards per game than any player to ever win the trophy."
He's also the only player in NCAA history with 12,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards in a career, and with 350 passing yards and 200 rushing yards in a game.
Just stop. It's not even close. It's not even a debate.
As a Mississippi State Alum, I am pulling very hard for Daniels...personally, I truly believe if the Bulldogs did not suffer the hard times losing Mike Leach and kept all things in place, Will Rogers would have probably broken all passing records in that system this year and could have been invited as well....but with that being said, if Daniels is robbed-and trust me, considering the stats from this season and how he stacks against former winners...the Heisman Trust would need to change who votes or change the stated criteria for the award!! There is NO WAY IN HELL IT SHOULD NOT GO TO DANIELS!!
