Well according to some Rant we are just a system offense anyways. So we will just plug and play the next guy on the roster and keep on humming. Problem solved.

Damn this sucks. I was looking forward to Davis' year. Hope he recovers fully and returns to form next season

Will Curtis get moved back to RB now?

I am not trying to argue with you here, but we see it every year where a new RB emerges from teams in our conference. Last year, it was Knile Davis, Michael Dyer, Marcus Lattimore, etc

I thought about this too, but I'm hearing they may move Fisher.

its defiantly a loss when you lose a starter but anyone writing off the hawgs this early is crazy especially because its a running back that went down.
bobby p will just have us passing even more, 5 wide all day if we need to do it

Huge difference between an unproven HB and an unproven QB. HB is the most overrated position in football. If your OL is strong, just about any HB can get you the ground yards you need. Unless you are talking about a Darren McFadden, Bo Jackson, Herchel Walker, etc, a HB can be replaced. This is a hit to Arky's HB depth but won't put much of a dent in their ground production IMO.

I would not be surprised. We are pretty thin at CB though right now.
Kodi Walker has looked good in practice, so we may see him getting a few more reps.

Petrino lost a star Heisman candidate at Louisville, Michael Bush to a knee injury.
He plugged another fella in and the Cardinals went on to an 11-1 regular season.

University of Arkansas junior running back Knile Davis sustained an injury to his left ankle during practice Thursday evening and is expected to miss the 2011 season.
"I am extremely disappointed for Knile," UA head coach Bobby Petrino said. "He is a captain who was incredibly focused on the upcoming year. His leadership throughout the offseason was significant in the development of this team. Our athletic trainers and medical staff are the best in the country, and Knile's mental toughness will be an asset to him during the recovery process. I am fully confident in the mindset of our running back group and their ability to perform."
Damn guys, I really hate this for yall. Was looking forward to a good battle of the SEC RB's with Davis being in the middle of it. Hope he recovers fully and is back and healthy next year.

if he can go 11-1 with losing a guy like bush at the ville he can do just fine on the flagship.

Again, something else I thought about, Fisher is what -190lbs? Just some crap I've heard.

Also, for comparison's sake, LSU fans have been clamoring about their RB Ware. DJ has much more experience and is a more proven SEC back that Ware. So, IMO, if they believe Ware is going to be a top 3 back this year just based off of the Cotton Bowl, I do not think any Hog fans should take any shite for believing Dennis Johnson can fill Knile's shoes nicely.
Just my two cents.

I think Davis was the best RB in the SEC. I will pray for a speedy recovery. Anyone that wanted him or any other Student Athlete hurt

While I agree that we still have the possibility to have a decent running game, comparing the defensive lines that Louisville faced to the defensive lines we are facing is a pretty big stretch.
My hope is that Petrino can ignite a passion in our healthy RBs to pick up the slack and perhaps one of them will have a break-out year comparable to what Knile had last season.

Just curious, do you think they'll still use DJ on special teams now that we're thin at RB?

Yeah,.....this isn't a 2 team league like the Big East.
