After watching the clip on ESPN, he has another fan here. 
ETA: he still bears the burden of a mother abandoning him and you can see he struggles with it. Damn shame dad left so early:(
I sense him being a great father in the long run and screw football. That's what really matters.

Banks is a great guy. I had class with him last semester, he was nothing like all the other football players I had class with. Always talked about his kid. Great guy.

You really can't not like the kid. Raised by his grandparents because his dad was killed in a car wreck. The only constant he has had in his life is his love for horses. He could have left for the draft last year but realizes he has a young son that looks up to him to be the mentor he never had. He busts his arse out there everyday so he can make sure that his son never has to worry about living in a house that didn't always have lights or running water like he did. And he also does it to make sure his horses always have plenty to eat and a field to run around in. Johnthan never gets in trouble, excells in classes and goes about his business as quietly as possible.
And when all his playing days are through what does he want to do? Be a member of the Mississippi Highway Patrol so he can serve the state that gave him the opportunities to better himself and his families situation. Grind on young Banks!
