It isn't as if Bama wasn't capable of winning before Saban. Everyone who has coached at Bama over the last 50+ years has been able to have at least one 10 win season. Sure, Bama hasn't played at the current level since the 70's, but who else was playing at this level? Name another team in a BCS conference that was going 56-6 over 62 game stretches.

I agree Saban has Bama at incredible heights, but LSU didn't go away when Saban left. They maintained what he built. I think when Saban retires Bama will still be a top 10 team. To think otherwise is wishful thinking.
