Funny enough, GT has a couple of guys that didn’t pan out in cut blocking but were more pass block guys. One of them is Jack DeFoor who transferred to GT from Ole Miss when Freeze left. He didn’t play much with Paul Johnson but he probably stands to benefit greatly.

All of the linemen have pass blocked all through high school so it’s not like they haven’t done it ever. They’ll need to knock some rust off.

GT’s new OC doesn’t run one scheme. He is multiple and will tailor the the offense to the pieces he has. He can do a number of things to mitigate pass block issues like quick strike routes and getting one of the 200 running backs on their roster out in space.

Why do so many threads about Bama come from UGA fans?

Not much of a loss … Bama's offensive line has under performed at times this season!

I know it is nitpicking our coaching staff, and there are many good dlines in conference, and even in our division, but with all of the talent we get on the oline, I would expect a little better results. Not saying they aren't good, just saying I don't think they have been reaching their full potential.

Not entirely he's getting an additional title, to be announced. Tell it all Leghumper.

Honestly don't think he was trolling Alabama...but you aren't exactly being honest either, unless you have seen other reports. Here is what the article actually said:
It’s possible that he could be granted an additional title, such as associate head coach.

COULD be granted an additional title. I mean, this isn't a slight at Alabama. The guy wants to coach at his old school.

Who said it has? Man, you guys are sensitive.
He just reported the news. Period.

Don't you think that the change to passing more has something to do with that, though? I honestly haven't looked at the number of passes, but it seemed you were throwing the ball more to take advantage of Tua's talents.

ET
Wow. Just looked it up. Alabama threw the ball almost 100 times more this year than last....but in 2016 it was almost even to this year. 2015 the same. A little higher than this year. It just seemed like y'all were throwing a lot more, I guess.

yeah, this is true, of course we will run less and pass more with Tua, but I really did expect this oline to be like the 2012 one where we could run or throw at will. But that is my bad because that is among the best college lines in this century.

this maybe where Butch Jones figures in Bama's plans. Life champions as the new OL coach.

Well, one reason Alabama is so good is that they have high expectations. You always push to be better and get better. Saban just knows how to do that.
