Like I said in my first post of this thread.....the OP is just trying to stir up problems. I have never heard any Auburn poster say we should not have been champions in 1980.
The only think I take exception to is when people try to attribute wins and losses to teams in the past based on nothing.

I am not saying without a doubt we would have won the West....and you can't say without a doubt that we would not. If we were in the West everything would have changed. Not the least of which somebody from the west would have been moved to the east, and that would have changed all the schedules around, and results of games would have been changed.

Two loses in the West says otherwise. I can not see how people try to rewrite what happened. UGA would have had to play LSU, Ole Miss, Ark, MSU, A&M, along with UA and AU. We know they were 1-2 with three of those game. Can not rewrite history.
