Hemingway- simplistic to say the least. is not near the writer faulkner was.

Dickens- overly emotional
Orwell- please. no one thinks his prose is all that great, just his ideas.
Twain - didn't write enough
Salinger - very small sample of writing, none of it as good as a dozen of faulkner's works.
Fotzgerald good, but not on the same plane as faulkner
Wilde- good wit, but lacks the vision of faulknerVonnegut (laugh every time someone proposes this nitwit as a great writer)

Powe
Christie
