We'll acknowledge UCF as co-champions of 2017 the minute every single LSU fan acknowledges USC as co-champions with 2003 LSU.

Considering the NCAA has nothing to do with naming a champion, I think we have to. I think the AP was far inferior to the BCS due to influence of preseason hype and inertia, but it has been around for a long time

The AP split from the BCS after the 2003 season.

If you recall, Oklahoma was #3 in both the AP and Coaches' Polls but somehow ended up #1 in the BCS despite USC being #1 in both polls in the final rankings before the bowl games.

As this was the SECOND time an undeserving Big 12 NON-CHAMPION was a beneficiary of this, (Nebraska was #4 in both polls in 2001, yet ended up #2 because of the computers) the AP refused to be a part of it.

according to the official NCAA record book!

I'll wait here while you share with the class how many National Titles the NCAA Record Book acknowledges Alabama for.
